Having launched its seventh generation just a couple of years ago, the 2022 3 Series doesn't introduce any major redesigns or big overhauls. It does, however, have a few notable updates that longtime fans and newcomers alike may want to hear more about, including:

• A new, digital instrument panel is now standard across all models
• A shakeup in the list of base-model amenities, with heated exterior mirrors and automatic, rain-sensing windshield wipers now standard
• Minor changes in the menu of optional add-ons and packages

Performance

Three trims with three coordinating powertrains are among the options available to you with the 2022 BMW 3 Series. Regardless of which you prefer, you can look forward to responsive performance, engaging handling, and eye-catching style with each one. The full lineup includes:

• BMW 3 Series 330i, the base model that has rear-wheel drive standard, with all-wheel drive as an option, and gets its power from a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 255 horsepower and 294 pound-feet of torque.
• BMW 3 Series 330e, a plug-in hybrid version of the popular sedan, with a turbocharged four-cylinder gas / electric hybrid engine that produces 288 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It also has rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and can go up to 23 miles on electric-only power before switching over to traditional hybrid functionality.
• BMW 3 Series M340i, the top-of-the-line and most powerful option of the bunch, this model receives a boost in power from a turbocharged six-cylinder engine. It delivers 382 horsepower and also has the option of either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, depending on your preference.

Both the 330i and M430i models are available with your choice of standard rear-wheel drive to deliver a classic sports car performance and feel, or available BMW xDrive® intelligent all-wheel drive, providing you with greater traction, control and confidence when traversing winter weather around Shelburne and Burlington or the secret shortcuts to the mountains in Stowe. Both engines get paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission to provide you with a responsive and smooth driving experience while also enhancing fuel economy.
